B & B DUO
Byron and Barbara Westerman, the B & B Duo, treat their audiences to music from the '30s through the '70s, including waltzes, Latin, classic rock & roll, and classic country.
Byron, something of a child prodigy, began piano at age four and trumpet at age 10. He attended the Navy School of Music and was lead trumpet of the Sixth Fleet Navy Band.
He has since played lead trumpet for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. A move to Branson saw him performing in the Glenn Miller Orchestra (backing Bobby Vinton).
Barbara started playing piano at the age of five, but her true love was the saxophone and bassoon. Studying with classical saxophonist, Sigurd Rascher while still a teen, Barbara was selected to perform in the Kids From Home Show, entertaining US troops overseas.
Barbara toured Europe and the Far East for two summers with that show.
For 30 years, she played bassoon with the Salina, Kansas Symphony Orchestra and saxophone in the Salina Community Concert Band, while working as a highly respected instrumental music educator.
The B & B Duo signature sound is produced by a mixture of background tracks created on a Roland Fantom digital piano combined with Byron playing live on trumpet, flugelhorn and piano. Barbara plays alto and tenor saxaphones.
They add velvety smooth vocals to many of their arrangements and enjoy an easy rapport with their audiences.
The B & B Duo is available for dances, receptions, reunions, conventions, weddings and private parties.
