Renowned Irish harpist, Dearbhail (pronounced Der'val) Finnegan, graduated from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She is one of Ireland's most sought-after harpists.
Following her graduation, Finnegan became a member of the Belfast Harp Orchestra as well as the Irish National Harp Ensemble. Performing as a harp soloist in the original production of Spirit of the Dance, Rhythm Dance and Sound of Angels for Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, USA, Finnegan has recently returned to direct and perform in Eire The Show, Harpsong, Celtic Celebration, Mystical Island and Feet of Fire. Recent higlights in her career include a performance at the White House during the 50th anniversary of NATO, and, with husband Robin Slater (flutist), Finnegan played in Zurich by appointment of the Irish Embassy (2006, 2007). Today, Dearbhail Finnegan is an accomplished teacher (having established the Meath Harp Ensemble), author (having recently published Traditional Irish Harp Arrangements, Volume One), performer, and director. She currently presides over Dearbhail Finnegan Productions, which is capable of show development ranging in scope from an intimate acoustic concert to a complete stage production with full cast of Irish musicians, singers and dancers.
